Required reading for all learners: Implicit Bias impacts patient outcomes

Generative artificial intelligence (such as ChatGPT) and big-data methods are helping us gain new insights. From creating human-like responses to predicting deterioration, data’s ability to inform care is enormous. This session explores the field of healthcare AI with an emphasis on acute care. We cover data analysis, software, and finding resources to enhance one’s knowledge of predictive analytics. Participants leave more comfortable reading, discussing and critiquing AI applications.

Objectives

  • Define big data, artificial intelligence, data science, and predictive analytics.
  • List at least three uses of big-data applications for improving care quality and patient outcomes.
  • Identify resources for expanding knowledge of artificial intelligence.
