A pandemic, a staffing crisis, many novice nurses in our workforce, and not enough experienced nurses: nurses need to see today’s health care landscape as an opportunity for change, not as the inevitable future of the nursing profession. We also need nursing leaders to help us move forward, to use this moment as a catalyst for positive change in our profession. Burnout has caused nurses to lose the excitement they once had for their work, and it is time to bring back the passion. The intent of this column is to encourage experienced staff and nurse leaders to work together to help their staff and colleagues rediscover passion for nursing.
